Westleton Village
Westleton is a quiet friendly village on the western boundary of the Suffolk National Heritage Coast, which is recognised as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is next to the renowned Minsmere bird reserve visited by the osprey and the avocet. Nightingales can be heard in the local woods in May and June.
Satis Cottage and The Weavers Cottage are right in the heart of the village. They are personally owned and managed ensuring a high standard of accommodation, facilities and maintenance.
The Sandlings
This area known locally as the Sandlings has a unique character. The sandy acid soil sustains heather and gorse moor with beech, rowan and little oak trees. These blend into fir forests edged with sweet chestnut and other deciduous trees. The area is home to much wild life that can be seen as you walk along ancient paths where in medieval times sheep were grazed (Westleton Walks). The habitat merges into a coastline of salt marshes, sandy cliffs and shingle, sandy beaches. Safe sandy bathing can be found at Walberswick nearby.

Facilities
The village surrounds a village green. Like many ancient villages it has a duck pond, a 13th century church and an old coaching inn. It is also fortunate in retaining a well-stocked shop with a post office, a garage and a second hand bookshop. There is also another pub, a restaurant and a tearoom. The three cottages are within easy walking distance of all these facilities so it is possible to have a good holiday without leaving the village!
Walks
Westleton is known for many interesting country walks to the National Trust heath land, beach and the RSPB bird reserve - all approached by footpaths. It is also pleasant to walk the bridleways and paths to local villages and have lunch in their hostelries! Maps can be purchased locally.
Entertainment
The village church has about four classical concerts each year, and a Wild Flower Festival in late July. The Barrel Fair is an old tradition occurring at the end of August. The barrels are pushed up and down the green and prizes are given to locals and all comers of both sexes! There is also additional entertainment for all the family. The village is 8 miles from the concert hall at Snape Maltings where there are regular concerts including the Aldeburgh Festival in June and the Snape Proms in August.

. And More
Within easy driving distance of the village, there are many places of interest for all the family with gardens and stately homes to visit, churches to explore, and for wine buffs: vineyards on the doorstep. In each holiday home there is local literature to help enjoy the area to the full.
